Today, 13 January, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have announced the opening of three referendums being held on three bills that would amend the Constitution.
The first referendum is about the Constitutional Fixes Act (I), which clarifies the non-ceremonial role of the Monarch, and guarantees the rights to elections by secret ballot and citizenship. The second bill the public will vote on, the I Don’t Like MPagistrates Act, simply forbids judicial officers from serving in Parliament. The last bill is the Clear Sessions Act, which specifies the length of a session of Parliament, and sets a new procedure for dissolving Parliament. We have linked these bills for convenient viewing.
Voting is open until 4:35 PM EST on Saturday, 16 May. The Royal Screamer encourages all Alexandrian citizens to exercise their right to vote.
